The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) has recently begun a service to improve the city’s unpaved streets. Citywide, there are 50 miles of unpaved streets. Though the City disavows formal responsibility for maintaining the streets, PBOT has allocated general transportation funds to grade and re-gravel the streets, and to guide residents in maintaining them following the service.
