Agenda

7:00 (10 min): Introductions

7:10 (30–60 min.): Topics, Updates, and Announcements

No current land use notices to discuss.

Powell-Division Safety Improvements Project – As requested at our July board meeting, TriMet sent the following outline of milestones for the crossings project. They will follow up with updates closer to each one.

  • NTP for design contract [May 2017]
  • Design contract extended (new staff, rate review) [July 2022]
  • Developing revised drawing set [underway]
  • Review of revised plan set [Fall 2022]
  • Final plans review [January 2023]
  • Construction contract out for bids [February 2023]
  • Notice to Proceed (NTP) for construction contract [late March 2023]
  • Potential start date and construction duration at SE 79th. Contractor will determine schedule, TriMet will ask to prioritize. [Summer 2023]

TriMet Spending Survey – See how TriMet plans to spend its portion of State transportation funds, and weigh in.

FX-2 (Division) Opening Celebration – TriMet invites community members to celebrate the Division Transit Project on Saturday, September 17, from noon to 5 p.m. at Portland Community College Southeast (with two similar celebrations elsewhere along the route). The event will feature food, free live music, family entertainment, and a giant interactive paint-by-numbers mural created by a local artist. Many businesses and restaurants along Division will also host open-house style promotions. Free rides on FX2-Division will be provided between noon and 6 p.m.

PBOT 82nd Avenue Project – The Building a Better 82nd Avenue online open house and survey are now live. PBOT is also looking for volunteers to serve on the community advisory group for this project. Apply here by August 31, 2022.

Jurisdictional transfer of inner Powell? – We’ve been approached by a rep of another SE neighborhood association to join in finding ways to support the jurisdictional transfer of inner Powell Blvd. from ODOT to PBOT. Local control of the roadway would make it easier to address issues of safety and access. The group is looking at something like the recent effort to transfer 82nd Ave to city control, and possibly a broader program to make jurisdictional transfers less difficult in the future. I’ve invited the person who reached out to us to the meeting, but in any case, we can discuss the topic.

Mt. Tabor Maintenance Yard project updates. The webpage hasn’t been updated in a while, but work continues.

August updates from the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability and ways to engage on citywide projects.

8:15 (or sooner): Adjourn
