After introductions Minutes of both June and July meetings were read and unanimously approved.
No Police officers attended.
Treasurer gave brief report on current balance of checking acct.
Discussion ensued re purchase of at least two new pop-up tents. Current inventory show one without cover and the other smaller one to be vanished.
It was proposed to allow $300. for the purchase of new ones. Anet Seconded, unanimously approved.
There was no Land Use Committee report since meeting had to be canceled due to unavailability of Committee Chair.
President Hanson reported preparations of upcoming Harvest Festival on Sept. 18. He is making arrangements for hay bales, musical entertainment, vendors, apple cider press (a loan from Portland Nursery), hoping for a contribution of corn from New Seasons. Also available will be as in past years the popular vegetable, flower and seed exchange, face painting and other children’s entertainment as well as a Bouncy House, courtesy of Trinity Fellowship. As always looking for volunteers to put this all together!
Yard signs were distributed to advertise this event. Also planned is an Ad to be published in the September SE Examiner.
Speaker Brett Thomason of ‘Renew Oregon’ was not present, possibly due to the immense heat of the day.
Blueprints of the remodel/renewing of the historic upper restrooms (Comfort Station) on Mt. Tabor were viewed. The repair and construction is scheduled to be this Fall, yet no specific starting date was noted.
It was mentioned that a new airbnb had been opened on SE 69th and a request for an OLCC liquor license had been applied for Chungdam Korean Restaurant on 79th and SE Powell as well as for Rip City Grill, which is replacing the ‘Butterfly’ restaurant on 6036 SE Division. The Chiropractic office just West of this establishment is also vacating and moving into a new structure just around the corner from their current location to 60th and SE Division.
